Looking for a Udio alternative?
Updated 26 October 2026
Udio was one of the first AI song generators people loved for its sound. After it settled with Universal Music Group in October 2025, it said it would become a licensed platform built around remixing approved music, and downloads of new songs were switched off for much of the change. Check udio.com for what it offers today.
If what you want is to make an original song, keep working on it, and take it with you, Zonik may suit you. We make Zonik, so weigh this page accordingly.
Make a song free: two songs a month, no card needed.
What Zonik does
- Makes original songs, with vocals or instrumental, from a description or your own lyrics, in about a minute.
- Opens every song in a Studio on paid plans: loop, trim, rearrange, mix with EQ and effects.
- Lets you record your own vocal in the Studio on a paid plan. Generate an instrumental to sing over: vocal separation is currently unavailable.
- Lets you take it with you: WAV downloads on paid plans, plus tracks, project files and (on Pro and Studio) MIDI of your sung melody for your DAW.
- Sets your rights by plan: personal on Free, commercial on Creator and Pro, commercial and sync on Studio.
What Zonik doesn’t do
- Remix or cover existing commercial songs. Zonik only makes new music.
- Import songs you made on Udio or elsewhere.
Moving over
If you still have the lyrics from songs you made elsewhere, and they are your own words, paste them into Zonik and describe the sound; you will get a new performance of your song that you can keep editing. The free plan makes two songs a month, so you can hear what it does first.
