Turn your lyrics into a song with AI
Updated 26 October 2026
Written a song but can’t play or sing it the way you hear it? Paste your lyrics into Zonik, describe how it should sound, and an AI singer performs them, with a full band, in about a minute.
Your words stay your words. They are sung as written, in the order you wrote them, and the arrangement is laid out for you to check before anything renders.

How to turn lyrics into a song
- Start a new song and switch from AI lyrics to “Write your own lyrics”.
- Paste your lyrics, verses and chorus in the order you want them sung.
- Describe the sound in a sentence: the genre, the tempo, the instruments and the kind of voice.
- Check the arrangement: the sections and their order are laid out before anything renders.
- Render it. In about a minute you hear the whole song, with the lyrics shown in time with the music.
- Change what doesn’t work. Choose Make a new version, edit a line or the mood, and render again: the key, the tempo and the kind of voice carry over.
Tips for lyrics that sing well
- Keep lines short enough to sing in one breath. Long lines get rushed.
- Give the chorus a line that repeats. It is the part people remember.
- Count syllables across a verse. Lines of similar length fall into a steadier rhythm.
- Say what the song should feel like in the description (“hopeful”, “bitter”, “quiet until the last chorus”) rather than inside the lyrics.
Then sing it yourself
If you wrote the words, you may want your own voice on them too. Generate an instrumental and, on a paid plan, record your take over it in the Studio. You can listen to an AI-sung version as a guide, but vocal separation is currently unavailable: making an instrumental creates a new performance, not the same band with its singer removed. See making a backing track and singing it yourself.
Who owns the song
Your lyrics are yours. The rights to the recording follow your plan: personal use on Free, commercial use on Creator and Pro, commercial and sync on Studio. Writing the lyrics yourself is also what gives a track real human authorship, which purely AI-generated audio may lack.
Common questions
Can AI turn my lyrics into a song for free?
Yes. The free plan makes two songs a month, with your own lyrics or written for you, and needs no card.
Will it change my lyrics?
No. Lyrics you write are sung as written. If you choose AI lyrics instead, Zonik writes them from your description and you can edit them before the next version.
Can I change one line after the song is made?
Choose Make a new version, change the line and render again. It is a fresh performance of the same plan, so the key, the tempo and the kind of voice carry over, and it counts as a new song in your monthly allowance.
How long can my lyrics be?
Enough for a song of up to about three minutes: typically two verses, a chorus or two and a bridge.
Can I get a melody for my lyrics as MIDI?
On Pro and Studio, the melody you sing over the track can be exported as MIDI, along with project files for your DAW.
